US FDA Delays Menu Labels

The US FDA has agreed to give restaurants an extra year to comply with regulations requiring the labelling of menus with calorie counts. Complications incurred include difficulties in pizza parlours, where toppings can mean up to 700,000 combinations of pizzas being available. There are other questions about serving sizes.

Businesses will now have until 1st December 2016 to apply the regulations, although a number of brands will continue with their current plans.
