UBI Research of Korea has joined in with the mood of positive forecasts for the OLED manufacturing equipment. The value of the market from 2017 to 2021 will total $84.9 billion, with $16.4 billion being invested this year. The company divides the equipment into five groups – TFT; OLED; encapsulation; cell and module. The chart below shows how this will split. The forecast is based on the increasing supply of flexible OLEDs which increases the share of investment going into cells and modules. The company excludes touch from the data but includes distribution and test equipment. 90% of the total investment will be from Korean (48%) and Chinese (42%) companies.
