We recently saw a reference to Transsion Holdings, which has an HQ in Shenzen in China, and is building a new HQ there. The company is reported to have made 80 million handsets in 2016 and the OLED Association has quoted data from IDC that identifies the company as the biggest smartphone handset vendor in Africa with a market share of 40%. It claims a capacity of 400K devices per day with three factories in China and Ethiopia. The firm’s brands include Tecno, Itel and Infinix.
The company launched two new Infinix phones with Flipkart, an online retailier, in India at the beginning of August. The dual SIM phones, the Note 4 and Hot 4 Pro, use Android and have batteries of 4300 mAh and 4000 mAh, respectively. The Note 4 has a FullHD 5.7″ LCD and uses a Mediatek MT6753 processor with 3G of RAM and 32GB of storage. There are 13MP and 8MP cameras. The Hot 4 Pro has a 5.5″ 1280 x 720 display and a 1.3GHz Mediatek MT6737 processor, with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and 13MP and 5MP cameras.
