TP Vision integrates HD+ into Philips TVs via HbbTV OpApp

What They Say

TP Vision has integrated an app in its Philips-branded TVs to support the German DTH satellite service, HD+. The app acts as a ‘virtual STB’ and will be available on the Android TV models PUS85x6, PUS9206, PML9506, PML9636, OLED706 and OLED8x6. The service is free for six months.

What We Think

Broadband TV News said that Samsung, LG and Panasonic have already added the service. The software eliminates the need for a CI+ module or dongle. It looks as though we are getting to the point that TVs can be used as STBs. It has been a long time coming. (BR)
