Toyota Cleans the Air with 37 Billboards

Toyota has launched an outdoor advertising campaign in the US for its hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, Mirai.

The Toyota advertising campaign has been running since the beginning of April and will continue until the end of May. The 37 billboards, from Clear Channel Outdoor Americas, use a titanium dioxide-coated vinyl plate. By catalysis, the ambient air is processed and the toxic NOx, which is responsible for smog or acid rain, is converted into nitrate and removed from the air.

With this campaign, called the “Vehicle of Change”, Toyota is advertising the Mirai, which uses hydrogen for energy generation via a fuel cell.

The billboards for the campaign use a total of 24,960 square feet (2,319 square metres) of space.

Although this is not a digital campaign, it shows how the physical presence of billboards can be exploited. (BR)
