IHS said that touch panel shipments for notebooks were down 7% QoQ in the second quarter at 4.6 million units according to a report in the CTimes. The total market in the first half was 9.5 million from 10.2 million in 2014. However, revenues were down 23.9% to $104.86 million, bringing the total market to $242.3 million in the first half, down 38.1% from 391.87 million last year. The poor result was a combination of high inventories, reduced notebook demand and falling ASPs, which fell 38.5% to $22.84.
