Toshiba’s client solutions division has announced the availability of its dynaEdge AR smart glasses solution. With a starting price point of $1,899.99, the device is the company’s first wearable AR solution to combine the power of a Windows 10 Pro PC with the feature set of industrial-grade smart glasses. Toshiba’s new AR solution includes the DE-100 Mobile Mini PC, AR100 head-mounted display, Lens-Less Frame and a USB-C cable with a cable clip and carrying case. The HMD incorporates Vuzix technology. The company is also offering developer kits with two different configurations — Basic and Performance — with pricing starts at $2,399.99. Both kits feature the usual hardware, plus a one-year, single-use license for Toshiba’s Vision DE Suite, SDK, Management Console and App Launcher. The Performance package will provide processor, memory and SSD upgrade options for the mobile PC, which originally launched in 2017. (Toshiba PCs are Smartphone-Sized)
Designed for enterprise customers, Toshiba says its new AR solution provides document viewing, live video calls, streaming, photo and video capture, alerts and messaging, making it ideal for a variety of uses cases, including maintenance, remote assistance, manufacturing, QA inspection and audit, logistics, training and knowledge transfer.
