According to reports, Toshiba Corp’s CEO and other board members are to resign over the accounting irregularities which are currently under investigation. CEO Hisao Tanaka and vice chairman Norio Sasaki are two of the executives who have so far been named.
Sources suggest that investigators are exploring the role that top officials may have played in the irregularities, particularly if they had knowingly encouraged malpractice.
The investigative committee is expected to release its findings next week.
