What They Say
Apple’s Tim Cook has been on a European tour and in an interview said that he doesn’t use the term ‘Metaverse’ as he is not sure that most people can tell you what it is. Even though Apple has not yet released any AR headset products, he believes that in the future, AR products will be as essential as smartphones are today.
What We Think
I don’t think I have ever heard a technology analyst that doesn’t think that AR will eventually be an essential technology, but there are still a wide range of forecasts of how soon it will get good enough and cheap enough or compelling enough in terms of application(s) that it drives fast consumer adoption.
This is not really news. Cook keeps saying these things and eventually, I guess, we’ll see something from the firm. (BR)
