Apple has made an agreement with Simply Mac, making it an authorised Apple repair service provider, on the proviso it stops using third-party equipment and aftermarket parts to perform repairs, which can lead to additional features like Touch ID and Face ID failing.
30 Simply Mac locations have been outfitted with equipment from Apple, enabling the company to conduct official repairs at the same price as Apple’s own repair service.
Earlier this year, Apple was fined $6.6 million for refusing to honour the warranties of devices repaired by third parties, after software updates rendered a number of devices with aftermarket screen repairs unusable.
