Aaxa Technologies has a new pico projector, the M5 which uses LED sources and DLP technology to produce 900 ‘LED lumens’ at 1280 x 800 resolution in a unit of 6″ x 6″ x 1.8″ (15.2 x 15.2 x 4.6cm). The unit uses a 28 watt lithium ion battery which is claimed to allow operation for 70 minutes of operation (in eco mode at 500 lumens). There is an included mains adaptor for maximum brightness. Weight is 1.95lbs (0.88kg). There are composite, VGA and HDMI inputs and an integrated media player allows playback without PCs of video and graphics via USB or MicroSD card. List price is $599, but the model was available at $499 when we went to press, direct from Aaxa.
