TCL Multimedia achieved a significant increase in sales of smart TVs in July, which rose 82.7% year on year to 317,548 sets. Total TV sales for the month, however, dipped 1.3% to over 1.1 million sets.
The group’s total LCD TV sales in China were down 18.7% YoY to 404,954 units, of which the sales volume of smart TVs grew by 25.2% to 195,155, accounting for 48.2% of LCD TV sales volume in July.
In TCL’s overseas market, sales volume increased by 11.7% YoY to 743,512 sets, which was mainly attributed to growth in the North American business.
Last month, in an effort to refine the group’s business segments and promote the development of the TCL brand, the company’s emerging markets business centre has been focusing on brand development and its sales figures for non-TCL brand have been incorporated in Strategic ODM Business Centre.
