TCL Multimedia has announced sales volumes of its TV products during the first quarter of 2018, which continued to grow, rising by 35.6% year-on-year, to 6,374,423 sets. Sales of Smart and Ultra HD TVs increased by 50.2% and 65.3% year-on-year to 4,640,379 sets and 1,817,213 sets respectively. Sales in the PRC kept a steady growth while overseas markets maintained strong momentum. In this first quarter, the company recorded its highest growth in five years.
In the PRC market, the company’s total LCD TV sales volume rose by 9.6% year-on-year to 2,430,056 sets in the first quarter of 2018, of which sales of smart TVs accounted for 83.2% (excluding ODM business), while UHD TVs accounted for 53.3% (excluding ODM business).
In overseas markets, the company’s LCD TV sales volume rose by 58.7% year-on-year to 3,944,367 sets in the first quarter of 2018. The North American market maintained steady growth, while emerging markets continued to achieve rapid growth, among which, the Central and South American markets including Brazil demonstrated continual and considerable sales growth.
European markets, including France, Italy, Poland and Spain saw a significant improvement in sales performance. The number of activated Smart TV users serviced through Huan for January to March 2018 was 2,051,590, the firm announced. Accumulated users totalled 25,588,112 as of the end of March 2018, while the daily average number of active users was 12,058,685.
