Taiwanese Makers See 2% Rise in LCD Panel Shipments

Taiwanese manufacturers shipped 61.37 large TFT-LCD panels in Q4, up 2% YoY, according to Digitimes Research. Of these 30% were for TV, 32% for notebooks, 21% for monitors and 14% for tablets. Total shipments for 2016 were down 2.3% at 231 million. In Q4, Innolux shipped 11.18 million TV panels, 10.25 million for notebooks, 5.99 million monitor and 2.49 million tablet panels. The numbers for AU Optronics were 7.21 million, 9.17 million and 3.37 million respectively plus a further 6.97 million panels for monitors. CPT and Hannstar shipped 2.51 million and 380,000 tablet panels respectively.
