TAITRA Launches VR/AR Exhibition on Taiwantrade.com to Help Domestic Eyewear Industry Seize Global Business Opportunities

Taiwantrade.com, Taiwan’s largest trade portal, has set up the “Taiwantrade Optical Zone to facilitate the eyewear industry’s deployment of cross-border e-commerce. Organized by Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) and operated by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), Taiwantrade.com presents the latest Optical Online VR/AR Pavilion to tackle the impact of the COVID-19 on the global economy, also aiming at helping out Taiwanese eyewear manufacturers to gain more international exposure as well as seize global business opportunities.

Through applying 3D modeling technology and VR/AR, viewers may experience various scenarios, such as from hiking in the forest to skiing on the snow mountain, and from swimming in the pool to conducting outdoor activities. The 3D glasses modeling of AR Eyewear try-on allows smartphone users to try on and share selfies through the AR facial recognition and try-on function without downloading any apps. The VR/AR technology breaks the limits of time and space, enabling international buyers to interact with suppliers.

Some of the well-known eyewear manufacturers are showcasing in the VR/AR Pavilion including SAEKO from First Rank Co., which a Taiwan Excellence Award winner in four consecutive years. Others include Grand Lin Industrial., Tsarn Shyan Fa Enterprise, Jerlson International, E-Tay Industrial, 720 International Limited, Novelty Eyewear, YCT, Hsin Jiang Optician, JH Optical, A-Dan Excellence, Alan Brothers Industrial, Toshung Technology, SYCT, and QEF Design.

More than 60 premium quality eyewear products will be showcasing in the Pavilion, including medical safety goggles, optical lenses and frames, sports eyewear and fashion sunglasses, swimming goggles, ski goggles, blue light reading glasses, kids eyewear, industrial goggles, and 3D glasses. All the products are completely Taiwan made, conformed with the security specifications of the US, Europe and Japan, offered with customized services, and reasonably priced.

Aside from experiencing the VR/AR technology in the Pavilion, buyers may obtain more B2B2C information via e-commerce and the mobile website by scanning QR codes. An Online-Merge-Offline (OMO) system has been constructed for suppliers and international buyers to make enquiries, offers and place orders online.
