SunScreen Launches Eos

SunScreen Display Technologies LLC, located in Southern California has announced the debut of the SunScreen Eos, the first in a family of affordable, consumer focused sunlight readable display products through a special Indiegogo launch scheduled to go live on June 26th.

SunScreen products are designed specifically to enable outdoor use of display devices, particularly cell phones, that are universally difficult or impossible to view in direct sunlight by combining proprietary backlighting, color filtering, glare reduction, and power management techniques to achieve up to 5 times the brightness of most cell phone or computer displays.

More information about SunScreen and their upcoming Indiegogo launch can be found on their website at www.sunscreendisplays.com, including a chance to win a free Sunscreen Eos during the launch period. Direct inquiries can be made on the website or via e-mail to [email protected].

Robert Rose, Managing Director of Sunscreen Displays says, “If you have ever tried to use or share the information on your cell phone in direct sunlight, you know how impossible it is. We have all experienced this problem, and it’s not solely confined to cell phones. Laptops, action cameras, SLR’s and tablet computers are all designed primarily for indoor use. To solve this obvious problem, we designed a simple add-on display that can be used anywhere…by anyone.” Rose goes on to reveal that the SunScreen Eos will debut on Indiegogo on Monday, June 26th and carry an introductory price as low as $259 for a limited number of early adopters.

Bill Bandel, Sunscreen’s Vice President of Marketing added, “We wanted to free people to use their devices anywhere, so we made the Eos affordable to everyone with a broad array of accessories to fit individual needs. This device has Miracast built in to accommodate wireless streaming from any Android or iOS cell phone or tablet, plus power and mounting accessories for all manner of cameras and computers with standard HDMI interfaces.” Bandel added, “With all of these features and a price point simply not available anywhere in the world today, we expect that many consumers will find new and creative ways to apply their SunScreen. Soccer moms, beach and pool goers, action cam users, golfers, other athletes and sports enthusiasts, drone flyers and many others will be headed outside with their SunScreens.”

The company says it will utilize Indiegogo as a launch platform to help fund the further development and production of the Eos with projected release in early Fall 2017. It also plans to donate $5 from the sale of every SunScreen Eos to the National Federation of the Blind.
