It is believed that Sony may have accidentally leaked the existence of successors to its A8F OLED and Z9D LCD TVs via a slightly premature update to its support website, which has subsequently been removed — but not before it could be screen-grabbed by members of AVS Forum.
The A9F, in 55″ and 65″ sizes, and the Z9F, in 65″ and 75″ sizes, both appeared briefly on the support page. Assumptions have since been made using Sony’s usual model naming conventions as the template that the A9F is a new OLED and the Z9F is an LCD. The 75″ Z9F was also spotted on Sony’s Encompass website, which sells OEM parts and accessories, lending credence to the earlier leak.
Several publications are surmising that these new models may incorporate the X1 Ultimate processor technology which the company demonstrated in a range of concept TVs shown at CES back in January.
