Deloitte’s Digital Democracy survey shows that streaming popularity is continuing to climb across the USA. Such services are now used by more than 42% of households in the country, with streaming content having overtaken live TV as the viewing method of choice. 56% of consumers now stream films and 53% stream TV every month. 45% prefer to watch TV live. Younger viewers were also found to prefer non-TV displays for their content consumption, with almost 60% of viewing time spent on PCs, tablets and smartphones among 14 – 25-year-olds. Deloitte also found that game consoles were increasingly being used for non-gaming content; 38% of consumers use them to stream films and TV and 29% use them to access online content.
