Convertible Component Order Increase Expected From China

Sources in Asia say that supply chains are preparing for an increase in component orders for convertible tablets. Sub-$250 Windows convertibles, based on Intel’s Bay Trail-T CR platform, will be a ‘key target’ for vendors in China this year. Asus and Lenovo are among the companies developing such products, which will also be launched in the USA and Europe, say the sources. Intel has been linked with Google and companies including Asus, Acer, HP, Quanta, Lenovo and Pegatron, to launch convertible Chromebooks in Q2.
