What They Say
Strategy Analytics (SA) said that table sales globally grew 28% to reach 188.3 million units in 2020, with 62.5 million units shipped in Q4. The big brands were the winners with Apple still well in the lead, but with Lenovo seeing the most growth during the year.
The company also released a table of sales by OS. Android is well ahead of Apple, with Windows declining in share slowly. Amazon does well in holiday quarters.
SA believes that tablet makers have to ensure that their products can support WFH and EFH, otherwise they will be under risk from notebooks and smartphones.
What We Think
I can’t remember the last time I used my tablet. My smartphone is big enough for many things and I use the notebook for productivity and communications. Then again, I mainly watch content in front of the big TV or in the background while I work on WBS! (BR)
