What They Say
MacRumors & 9to5Mac have seen a report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo that suggests that the much rumoured Apple AR headset will be launched in a year’s time in Q4 2022 and will be a stand-alone device that will not need a phone or other CPU as it will be based on Apple’s M1 chip as well as a lower powered chip to operate the sensors. The headset is also expected to use Wi-Fi 6E technology.
What We Think
For the first time in nearly 40 years, I have just spent some of my own money on an Apple product, a new iPad Pro – the 12.9″ version with the miniLED display – it was available on a Black Friday deal. It’s pretty spectacular in terms of brightness. I’m just getting back into the whole Apple system, so will write a DD when I have had a bit more experience. The tablet uses the M1 chip and so far it looks very good in terms of performance.
The headset is expected to use dual 4K OLED microdisplays from Sony. (BR)
