We have reported on Spectral Edge, which has technology to modify video performance to match the perception of those with colour blindness, several times since April 2015 and met the company at IBC in 2015 (IBC 2015 Round Up). The company has now said that it has developed technology called Nighteq that reduces the blue content in video while, the company claims, maintaining contrast and picture quality. Spectra Edge said that the technology could be used if its IP core is within chipsets and we originally met the firm on the STMicro booth, so we guess that their chips had the technology.
Nighteq and Eyeteq are the first two products based on Spectral Edge’s Phusion image enhancement technology, developed by Spectral Edge following its spin-off from the University of East Anglia.
