RTVE in Spain has tested 8K transmission using DVB-T2 and Dolby AC-4 sound in Madrid, Seville, Valencia, Barcelona, Santiago de Compostela, Málaga and Ciudad Real. The trial used Samsung QLED 8K sets and was transmitted from Madrid on channel 44. The broadcaster is said to have been using 8K in creation since last year to create material for the test.

Hard to imagine that 8K will be widespread on DTT anytime soon – 4K content is still limited. (BR)
