Spain’s Pay-TV Penetration to Reach 41% by 2021

Pay TV represents 34% of the television sector’s revenues in Spain, according to Deloitte, which also predicts that pay TV will reach 41% penetration in the country in 2021—a figure that would exceed the 33% recorded in 2016, when pay TV registered 6.1 million subscribers. The report also found that OTT operators accounted for 1.8 million pay TV subscribers in 2017, while pay TV’s overall audience share grew to 7.8%, up from 5.6% in 2013.
