According to Advanced Television, the Spanish government has confirmed that the country’s DTT migration will be completed by March 2020, three months before the EU deadline. The migration is taking place throughout the region in order to free up the 700MHz band for 5G services.
The government has also said it will issue a detailed migration plan by the end of the year, including a map of frequencies and information regarding compensation and financial aids for broadcasters and users. All eight of Spain’s current DTT channels will be retained.
