12″+ tablets already exist in the market today, from companies including Samsung and Microsoft; Apple has also repeatedly been linked to such a device. Supply chain sources now say that Sony will also develop a large tablet and release it some time in the first half of the year. The price ‘may exceed $1,000’, the sources said.
Sony’s tablet is expected to be manufactured by Pegatron. The 12.9″ display will have 3840 x 2400 resolution, with a Qualcomm processor. Mass production is apparently due to start soon.
