What They Say
What HiFi had a chance to look a the new Sony QD-OLED-based TVs and, like everyone else that has had a chance to try it, liked the image quality. The set was compared with last year’s A90J OLED and a BVM-X300 mastering monitor. The magazine said:
“The extra vibrancy it offers, particularly in bright colours, is fabulous, but there’s little to no sense of exaggeration to its delivery. In fact, it looks very close to the reference BVM-X300, while the A90J looks decidedly pale in comparison”.
“… to say we left the demo room impressed would be a big understatement”.
The article reports Sony as saying that it has used a ‘heat diffusion sheet’ to distribute heat more evenly and used ‘temperature distribution mapping’ that helps prevent image retention.
What We Think
Pricing is still not confirmed. Samsung’s delay in getting sets out must be delighting Sony. (BR)
