Sony PS5 VR Due ‘After 2021’

What They Say

Nikkei published an article in Japanese (unfortunately not available on the English language service) in which Sony Interactive Entertainment’s CEO told the paper that the next Sony PlayStation VR headset, will have a wider field of view, higher resolution, and better tracking than the PSVR when it launches ‘sometime after 2021’.

Sony plans to continue to try to develop and promote exclusive content on the PS5.

“We have been quietly but steadily investing in high-quality games for PlayStation, and we will make sure that the PS5 generation will have more dedicated software than ever before,” Ryan said.

“We have repeatedly engaged in mergers and acquisitions, including Insomniac Games in the US. We will not rule out that option in the future.”

What We Think

Sony has had five years of experience with its headsets and its display devices are well thought of by its customers. The firm should be able to do a good job on a version 2.

The PS5 continues to be in short supply – the current issues in the supply chain have not been kind to Sony.(BR)
