Sony Pictures has done a deal to use Nokia’s Ozo camera to create VR content. The camera is a high end ($45,000) unit that uses 8 cameras, each with 2K x 2K resolution to capture content. It also has 8 microphones for all round audio. The camera will be used to create content including captures of live events.
