Sony Goes Lensless with F-Series Projectors

Sony Professional Solutions Europe has introduced a new range of lensless F-series projectors based on customer feedback, to better meet the needs of larger installations. The original F-series projectors included a standard lens, with the option to purchase additional lenses.

However, the needs of large-scale installations are so bespoke, that the majority of customers were selecting one of the other lenses in Sony’s extensive range. The new lensless range includes three laser phosphor projectors, the VPL-FHZ57L (4,100 Ansi lumens, 10,000:1 contrast) , VPL-FHZ60L (5,000 lumens, 10,000:1 contrast) and VPL-FHZ65L (6,000 lumens, 10,000:1 contrast), as well as two lamp-based models, the VPL-FH60L (5,000 lumens, 2,000:1 contrast) and VPL-FH65L (6000 lumens, 2,000:1 contrast), to suit the requirements of different installations.

All of the lensless F-series models are designed with larger installations in mind from large classrooms, lecture theatres and auditoriums, to museums, retail signage and corporate atriums. All models use Sony’s BrightEra 3LCD projection engine to deliver up to 6,000 lumen image brightness, depending on the model chosen.

The laser series is also designed with flexibility in mind, with 360° free-angle installation capability and powered wide lens shift, so projectors can be positioned at any angle, close to ceilings or even horizontally offset. Features include VGA, DVI-D, HDMI, HDBaseT as well as video signals. Sound is 28dB and

The advanced laser light source offers up to 20,000 hours of low maintenance operation, reducing lifetime running costs compared with traditional projectors. Features include an automated filter cleaning system that removes dust every 100 hours. The laser phosphor units have a constant output mode and there is integrated blending and warping engine.

The F-series Lensless range is available to purchase now.
