Sony Announces New Range of Lensless F-Series Projectors

Sony Professional Solutions Europe has introduced a new range of lensless F-series projectors based on customer feedback, to better meet the needs of larger installations. The original F-series projectors include a standard lens, with the option to purchase additional lenses.

But as the needs of large-scale installations are so bespoke, the majority of customers were selecting one of the other lenses in Sony’s extensive range. The new lensless range includes three laser projectors, the VPL-FHZ57L, VPL-FHZ60L and VPL-FHZ65L, as well as two lamp-based models, the VPL-FH60L and VPL-FH65L, to suit the requirements of different installations. All models can be combined with a range of Sony lenses that meet the needs of virtually any size of room or throw requirement.

“We’re always looking for ways to better meet the needs of our customers,” said Robert Meakin, Senior Product Manager at Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “So when their feedback was that they were swapping out the standard lens most of the time, we wanted to save them time, hassle and money by offering a lensless alternative. This range means we can ensure we’re providing our customers with a solution that’s bespoke to them.”

All of the lensless F-series models are designed with larger installations in mind from large classrooms, lecture theatres and auditoriums, to museums, retail signage and corporate atriums. All models deliver exceptional image quality, with Sony’s advanced BrightEra 3LCD projection engine to deliver up to 6,000 lumen image brightness, depending on the model chosen, with vivid, natural colour reproduction. And advanced picture refinement technology ensures that the audience can experience even the finest details. The VPL-FHZ57L, VPL-FHZ60L and VPL-FHZ65L also utilise a Z-Phosphor laser light source for crisp detail-packed WUXGA (1920 x 1200) 16:10 resolution images.

The laser series is also designed with flexibility in mind, with 360° free-angle installation capability and powered wide lens shift, so projectors can be positioned at any angle, close to ceilings or even horizontally offset.

The advanced laser light source offers up to 20,000 hours of virtually maintenance free operation, reducing lifetime running costs compared with traditional projectors. And with features in both laser and lamp options including an automated filter cleaning system that removes dust every 100 hours, users can focus on delivering fantastic images, not arduous maintenance tasks.

The F-series Lensless range is available to purchase from 7th June 2017. For more information visit www.pro.sony.eu/projectors
