Sky Deutschland’s Director of Technology Innovations and Standards, Stephan Heimbecher, recently stated that 900,000 Ultra HD Sky+ Pro receivers had been installed in Germany as of the end of 2017, according to Broadband TV News. Sky+ Pro is a German rebranding of the company’s Sky Q service.
Heimbecher went on to say that, following its launch in 2016, the company’s Ultra HD service has since been added to Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV platform, before appearing on all major cable networks earlier this year. He remained sceptical when discussing High Frame Rate, but described it as a step forward.
