Siliconcore Claims Highest Resolution Outdoor Display

At ISE 2023, SiliconCore is showcasing and saying its 1.2mm Outdoor LED Display, the company’s first product in the outdoor display market, offering a sustainable and durable solution compared to outdoor LCD displays. With a brightness of 4000 nits, it has low power consumption, providing longer operating life. Its modular design features waterproof IP65 PCBs and a customizable sub-frame, allowing for greater scalability and creativity in display size. This results in increased content density and more advertising opportunities.

The foray into the outdoor digital signage arena is an extension of the existing 1.2mm LED Modular Floor product seen above. It’s also a good example of how the lines between display SKUs will get blurred as we move LCD to LED to OLED, and microLED, with inherently more options available for designers to rethink how and where displays can go.

These are still very niche, specialized products, with distribution channels are tied to specialist installers and design companies taking the products into retail or venues. You just have to wonder whether that is not about to change in the next 2-5 years with commoditization of the displays and a lot more differentiation on software and software integration services.
