Silicon Image has announced the release of MHL products for the automotive markets. MHL has become a connection of choice for many automotive infotainment systems. With over 650 million devices featuring MHL connectivity, the interface allows the connection of smartphones with the automotive based system.
Silicon Image has now released two receivers supporting up to 4k Ultra HD video, with up to eight channels of digital audio, all while charging the mobile device. MHL allows the user to view the content of the connected smartphone on the infotainment system.
The two receivers are both AEC Q-100 qualified and feature expanded temperature range support.
