SID Awards 2020 Display Week Business Track to DSCC

The Society for Information Display (SID) has awarded the organization and execution of its highly popular series of business conferences during its annual Display Week conference and exhibition to Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) for the 4th consecutive year. SID’s 2020 Display Week will take place from June 8-11 at the San Francisco Moscone Center in San Francisco, Calif.

According to SID Business Track Chair John Jacobs, “We are pleased to award the 2020 Business Track to DSCC. They have delivered an outstanding program for the past three consecutive years and we are confident they will deliver another valuable program in 2020 to meet the ongoing needs of our members.”

DSCC CEO Ross Young commented, “We are once again thrilled to be organizing and hosting the SID Business Track. We consider Display Week the most important week in the display industry calendar and are honored to be organizing four unique events for SID attendees. We look forward to the challenge of keeping these events highly relevant and valuable to attendees and plan to implement a number of enhancements to the programs.”

The Business Track will consist of:

  • SID/DSCC Business Conference on Monday, June 8th
  • SID/DSCC Investor’s Conference on Tuesday, June 9th
  • SID/DSCC Foldable Display Market Focus Conference on Wednesday, June 10th
  • SID/DSCC Automotive Display Market Focus Conference on Wednesday, June 10th

Based on evaluation of the 2019 Business Track, and in response to attendee feedback and continuing development of industry trends, there will be some changes for the 2020 event:

  • The SID Business Conference is the consistently the display industry’s single largest one day event focused exclusively on the business of the display industry. In 2020, a number of new speakers will be invited representing display buyers and sellers, display-based products, display analysts and emerging display technologies. A major theme will be the changes expected in display markets and technologies and which companies are best positioned to benefit.
  • In the case of the 2020 SID Investors Conference, a big change is that it will now be free for qualified investors in order to maximize the investors in the audience. This event will once again feature a panel of leading VC and private equity investors, who will discuss what they are looking for from private display companies. A large number of private companies seeking funding will then be segmented into seed, early, medium and late stage and will present their case to a large number of investors interested in the display space.
  • The Foldable Display Market Focus Conference will cover both technical and market issues surrounding one of the next big innovations in the display industry. Building off the success of the inaugural foldable event in 2019, this event will address remaining technical and market challenges and provide in-depth market, cost and price forecasts. The event will also examine the prospects for dual-screen displays and how it changes the foldable outlook. In addition, this event will also examine different requirements for foldable vs. rollable display manufacturing along with rollable display market, cost and price forecasts.
  • The Automotive Display Market Focus Conference, in its 4th year, will address the exciting opportunities offered by this growing segment with unique challenges. Presenters will discuss implications of the shift to semi-autonomous and autonomous vehicles on Human Machine Interaction (HMI) with perspectives from key industry analysts, material suppliers, display manufacturers, Tier 1 automotive suppliers and leading automotive OEMs. It will also cover both existing and emerging flat panel display automotive applications and the opportunities and challenges in head-up displays (HUD).
