Another hat-tip to Sixteen-Nine.net for spotting a report that container shipping costs from China to the West Coast of the US have dropped around 60% from January 2022 and are now at around $5,400, while containers to Europe are down to around $9,000, down 60% from January. That’s a long way down from the >$20K a year ago.
The drop is because of a combination of lower demand as channels clear excess inventory and disruptions have reduced.

This will be some relief to brands, especially in Europe where currency pressures are very strong with the drop of the € and £ against the $ (BR)
