Sharp said that $570 million, part of the money that Foxconn committed to future investment in Sharp when it took over the business, will be spent on building two pilot OLED manufacturing lines in Osaka and Mie. Production is likely to start in the summer of 2018.
Analyst Comment
These are relatively small investments compared to the scale that will be needed to seriously develop capacity in the OLED space. However, it shows the direction of travel that Sharp will be taking. (BR)
