Shanxi Kuntech Kicks Off Flexible OLED Project

Shanxi Kuntech has held a kick-off ceremony for a flexible AMOLED factory in China. The plan is to build a Gen 4 R&D production line and a G6 Flexible AMOLED fab with a capacity for 30,000 substrates per month by around 2021, with equipment move starting in the middle of 2020. At the event an in/out foldable panel said to have been developed by the team was shown. The firm also says that it has its own algorithm for driving the display and dealing with issues such as non-uniformity and mura.

The clean room area of the project is about 550,000 m², which is the largest clean room facility in Shanxi Province.
