Advanced Television has detailed some figures released by Eutelsat Italia following a survey of 122 managers from broadcast companies on UltraHD. Just over three quarters of respondents think that linear TV (as part of a Pay TV package) or VoD PPV are the best ways to supply UltraHD content. FTA is considered to be less feasible although 44% of respondents think that UltraHD will be available that way in three years. Fortunately for Eutelsat, Satellite is seen as the best way to deliver UltraHD content.
There are said to be 42 UHD channels globally in March 2017, and the report forecasts 785 in 2025. 10 of the channels are demo channels and 38% are free to air.
Respondents to the survey preferred these broadcast methods for UltraHD.
