Samsung has announced its first Android Go smartphone, the Galaxy J2 Core. The device features a 5″ LCD screen with a resolution of 540 × 960, 220 pixels per inch and an aspect ratio of 16:9. The handset incorporates Samsung’s Exynos 7570 Quad mobile chipset and includes 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 256GB via micro SD.
Its 8-megapixel primary camera can shoot video in 1080p30. The J2 Core also features a 5MP internal camera. The handset launches in India and Malaysia on August 24th. No other territories have been announced as of yet, nor has pricing information. It’s believed that the J2 Core will retail for around 7,000 rupees (about $100).
