In February 2019, Sharp will begin moving equipment into its new 10.5G LCD fab in Guangzhou, China, according to Digitimes. The publication cites a report from Korea’s ET News.
Digitimes’ report goes on to say that the facility will produce 45,000 substrates per month, in sizes between 40″ and 69″. First-phase production will apparently commence in August 2019, with volume production following in October and a second-phase expansion of an additional 45,000 units a month planned for 2020.
