The ET Times of Korea has reported that Samsung will invest $7.4 billion in new OLED production capacity to support a switch by Apple from LTPS to flexible OLEDs. The paper said that the firm will add capacity for 30-45K substrates per month this year, with 45K more to be added next year. AP Systems and HB Technology are said to be the main equipment suppliers. Additional investment will be made to support the supply of glass-based OLEDs for Chinese phone makers.
