Samsung Starts 10nm SoC Production

Samsung said that it has started the mass production of SoC chips, based on a 10 nanometer FinFET process. The company claims it will give a 30% increase in area efficiency compared to 14nm and 27% better performance or 40% lower power. Following the introduction of the first-generation 10nm process (10LPE), its second generation process (10LPP) with a further performance boost is targeted for mass production in the second half of 2017.
