Dallas-based law firm Caldwell Cassady & Curry let it known that it had secured a $150 million settlement for UK-based Nanoco Technologies Ltd. in a patent infringement lawsuit against Samsung Electronics. Samsung agreed to the settlement just before jury selection in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The lawsuit, filed in 2020, accused Samsung of incorporating Nanoco’s patented quantum dot technology into its high-end QLED televisions. Last May, the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruled in favor of Nanoco, upholding all 47 claims covering five contested patents.
