Samsung Plans In-Cell Touch for S8

The ETNews in Korea reports that Samsung will use Y-Octa ‘in-cell’ touch technology, previously used on the ill-fated Note 7, on its next flagship smartphone (‘S8’). However, the news source reports that the technology will only be used on the smaller display version (5.1″) rather than the 5.5″ because production capacity is limited.

The use of the technology should reduce the thickness of the display.

A separate rumour suggests that the S8 will use an RGB OLED rather than a Pentile layout. (BR)
