Samsung has launched a new range of modular LED TV tiles in India called “Active LED” or alternatively, “LED for Home”. The displays are being supplied in standard sizes of 110″, 130″ (both FullHD), 220″ and 260″ (both UltraHD) and prices range from INR 1 crore to 3.5 crore ($140,000 to $490,000). Our calculation gives pitch at 1.27mm for the 110″ and 220″ and 1.5mm for the larger size.
Analyst Comment
We don’t think these are genuinely microLED or miniLED, but the same SMD panels that are used in Samsung’s cinema and commercial LED business. In fact, the displays were released in India at the local Infocomm event. (BR)
