Samsung Launches 4D VR Moon Landing Experience in New York City

Samsung has created a 4D virtual reality simulation in collaboration with NASA, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, the 1969 spaceflight in which Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first to walk on the surface of the moon.

“Moon for All Mankind” incorporates the company’s Gear VR headset and Galaxy S9+ smartphone, plus a recreation of NASA’s Active Response Gravity Offload System used in low-gravity training for astronauts.

The experience is situated at Samsung 837, the company’s product experience hub in New York City, United States. The public can access it for free and even reserve an appointment via the hub’s website to avoid having to wait.

The company says that the simulation will remain open until July 2019, with regular content updates coming out periodically to keep the experience fresh for repeat customers.
