Samsung’s VR Pass project concluded in spectacular fashion last month. Owners of Samsung Gear VR were able to take a front-row seat at Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams tour, from the comfort of their living rooms via the Samsung VR app.
Samsung’s VR Pass project began in early June at UFC 212. The featherweight fight between Jose Aldo and Max Holloway was beamed directly to Samsung Gear VR headsets in full 360° video. The following month, users were able to experience sports including BMX and skateboarding at the annual X Games 2017, streamed live from Minneapolis.
Coldplay’s concert in August was the final stop on the VR Pass tour. Samsung held several special viewing events in countries including the US, Canada and Brazil, during the lead-up to the show.
Though the project is over, Gear VR owners can enjoy highlights from the tour via the Samsung VR app until the end of October.
