What They Say
Reuters reported that there was a cluster of around 70 cases of Covid among attendees from Korea at the recent CES show.
Separately, the Korea Herald reported that Samsung had chartered flights to bring infected staff home as they were unable to use commercial flights, which need negative PCR tests within 72 hours before departure.
What We Think
It’s not surprising to see such problems from the event and that’s probably part of the reason for the cancellation/postponement of ISE, although that was very late. Dave Haynes has a nice article summarising the issues for the new ISE dates. The Midwich event that will clash with the new dates is a useful local event, and usually has pretty good support. That may suffer quite badly if people go to ISE instead. (BR)
