After its successful Q4 from a financial point of view (Samsung Results 24/01/2017). The company said that it sold 90 million smartphones in Q4, 8 million tablets while TV shipments were down at 16 million. The company also said that it would not currently proceed with a second LCD fab closure, after its closure of the L7-1 fab at the end of 2016.
Analyst Comment
The change in plan seems to have been made because of the supply situation which has become tough for Samsung’s TV business since Sharp decided to stop supplying the company. (BR)
